so instead of "sad SAC" in China, we'll be "SUPER SAC" in Long Beach!

I actually can't approve that sale?? ( the Ghost of Kelly Johnson, (my Patron Saint), would haunt me), but we will lease SAC's vacated building and start LockMart East ASIA! but we're still gonna stick with Pratt and Whitney,,,,, so, what can LockMart EAST ASIA build for you today young man?? maybe we could re-start Raptor Production??

A piece of this decision is probably the greater regulatory scrutiny being directed at SOEs by this current administration. One of the intended side effects of both new SOE policies and the anti corruption drive (plus its institutionalization) is about imposing greater discipline on SOE behavior and activities. I don’t keep close track of personnel at SOEs, but I imagine that even if the J-31 ends up getting procured it will be through an SAC that has experienced significant managerial changes.

We should wait for the photo of the prototype to know for sure.

The gossiping is now in full play! So far all the rumor sources are people who work in supplier firms. On Zhihu (Chinese equivalence of Quora) someone asked an actual employee of SAC who denied FC-31 is accepted by PLAN or PLAAF. So, he implies if PLAN/PLAAF purchase the next jet from SAC it would be a new project.

Well, if we go by strict terms, it's not the FC-31 that will enter PLAN service but a derivative of it. So it would be a new fighter but one that draws heavily from an existing design to speed up its development.
