Well, if you read the article, it talks about some American source 防务新闻, which I have found no such English articles. And normally, when Chinese news posts these kind of stories, it's always fake.

Yes, it seems indeed to be one of the few - at least for me still mysterious - laws of Chinese aeronautics !
Like I already noted in the J-20 tread, the next opportunity will be between 6. - 11. July (when I'm away with a class) and even more between 27. July and 15. August (family holydays in France !) ... so I think the chances are good that at least until mid-August we know more about J-20 '2016', Y-20 '20004', the operational units of J-10B and J-16 ... and maybe more !

No, You can clearly see the front canopy exactly where it is used to be ... the rear part only seems to look like ...

A moderator on CJDBY claimed that the revised model of J-31 (with the slanted vertical stabilizers and advanced domestic engines) will appear in 2016. Make of that what you will.

I don't know the guy's reputation in the CJDBY forum, but he should be more creditable than the average forum posters there because he is one of the moderators. Let's try to remember his name and post until next year to see if his claim is valid or fantasy BS. A lot of times these "big shrimp" do leak out some good information way ahead of anybody else.
