Excellent, I would've been dissapointed if it looked that much like F-22. I'd prefer SAC's 4th gen to look more like PAK FA >_>

Nah, the Russian and Indian fanboys are angry enough already towards Chinese aviation, no need to crank up their nerdrage more with such a move.

I reminded me of the ps'd pics we had a couple months back of the supposdly stealthy JH-7B cockpit with the DSI intake in yellow primers. :D

SAC's main "expertise" is Flankers, right?

Therefore, the more the supposed leaked "model" looks like a Flanker derivative, the more likely it´s a real deal, IMO.

I see the neck of this model is pretty much the same as PAK/Fa, or no?

The Marking on the airplane reads: Shengyang Aeronautics University on the Left
and On the right reads AVIC Industry Shengyang Institute.
same as that tailless UAV model shown at the UAV contest.

I bet is this is the product of some semi-secret partner ship between AVIC shenyang 601 institue (also could be Shenyang automatic controls Institute, two different org but close partnership) and the university, that got leaked into the public domain.

I would say this UAV show is as good as anything right now on what 601 is actually doing this moment.

NUAA students prob just took this picture at their competitor's stand...

Considering the UAV was a tiny sub scale demonstrator... The situation at SAC must be pretty bad.

not really one way or the other,
It may not be a "real" subscale demo, the Shenyang AVIC institute could simply given the University the outermold line and some aero data on one particular design out of a bunch of series and helped them put together the UAV as a control demonstrator platform. plenty of people use Subscale flying platform like this to work out controls problems.

the guys who did the JDAMs and x-46 and Boeing BWB people comes to mind the first.

anyways, not a big deal in the industry.


It's kinda funny....I am prob the only ones around in the cyberspace that is plugged into aero industries on both side pacific.,..
