Re: Casual talk...Have fun!

Not quite pla101prc^^....but almost..Here's the story..

Anhauser-Busch stored beer in ice cold caves near the Mississippi River. Everyday their wagons pulled by Clydesdale would deliver the Ice cold brew to pubs a, bars and restaurants in the St Louis area. Up until that time Americans drank any thing at room temperature >>> but as my man pla101prc sez..

its prolly the same concept of drinking cold water rather than warm water...it tastes fresh

Americans started to enjoy the taste of an ice cold brew! And any other ice cold drink..:D

Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Huh? I've not had a beer or any sort of alcohol since Super Bowl Sunday in January 2003. I was never a big drinker.

In the UK You drink the beer at room temp. I never got use to it.

When i left college I had a part time job in the forestry service/ part of the time i interacted with management and usually the required drinking was about 6 jugs a day this was equivilent to about 15 standard cans minimum. Drinking started about 11am to 1.30am a 2-3 jugs of jugs. and then we would comeback after work about 3.30-4pm and drink to about 11pm another 3-4 jugs.

I was the relieving forestry science tech for a bloke. that was getting chemo. and i had to monitor several forests in his absence. THe other time I was Chaffeuring my boss who was in charge of all the forests in a an area encompassing an area approx 200k by70k. He was due to retire but having accumulated more than 18months paid sick leave all he had to do was show his face from time to time and put his oki doki on various paperwork and disappear but remain contactable all i did was a chaffeur minder/ it was ok drinking and driving cause most of the time we drove on private rds.

Once Myself and 2 other mates picked up a cAnadian Hitch Hiker while driving from Wellington to Auckland a distance of about 436miles./1000kms.?
Telling him we were hardened drinkers from way back we were going have a drink at each town bar we drove through. Two days and 80 odd bars later we arrived in auckland. No we didnt get drunk we shared a small jug which amounted to a small glass each. about half a can., some places the non drivers had a second round of drinks.

Chinese yogurt? Over here or are you in China right now???

Drinking stuff cold makes it taste a lot cleaner too, but I can never drink the way Americans do, the temperature just freezes up my esophagus and I can't drink anything anymore.

I am no big drinker, and I don't understand the idea of beer, it's basically a hard soda. Is alcohol that good?

Ice cold beer? I gotta chug it while it's killing my throat? Nah.... I can never finish a beer within an appropriate sitting.

Anybody put lime in their beer?

I am still in Houston, Texas. that's why I'm so excited about it. This is the first time that I found the typical Chinese-style yogurt in the States. It tastes very similar to what I can still remember to be the authentic taste of the Chinese one. So go to your local Chinese grocery store and you might find one too.

This one was locally made, which means it's made in the States. I have to look at the label to see which state it was actually made. So I'm sure it doesn't have all the "extract stuff". Plus, melanine is not as effective to adults.

Lime only fits with Corona.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Beer has alcohol in it. 14-15 beers will get you drunk unless you are Superman. So you were drunk. I bet your blood alcohol level was off the chart.

Depends on what you consider as drunk. Legally, yes. I bet my blood alcohol level is way above 0.08. but my mind was still clear and I knew that I drank too much and I needed to go back to my dorm. So in that sense, I wasn't drunk :D:D:D

A little trivia...and don't look up the answer!!!!..Why do Americans drink cold beer???

I heard they actually have warm/hot beer in Germany specially designed for winter drinking. Has anyone had one?

I put lime juice in my lagers sometime, it makes the beer extra refreshing

So you cant even drink chilled coke , pepsi etc, those drinks are horrible at room temp. Beer should'nt be ice cold, just nicely chilled like white wine.

I wonder if thats just spun off from having a pinch of salt and a suck of a slice of lemon after having a shot of Tequila?. I was told by a professional that practice was just a marketing tool, and rather than sucking on a lemon , one should have something sweeter. A Mexican licquid version of a China Sweet N Sour maybe?:D

I dont know whether I was having my leg pulled but lime juice was served up in the old sailing ship days to prevent scurvy:D

How different is Chinese yoghurt to regular western yoghurt?

I hope you werent one of those people who save big on your HDTV, but gave your savings back on a fancy HDMI cable?
