RWS? It'd be interesting to see its side views.Secondary 12.7mm!
Due to lack of brass domestically China developed brass plated steel cases for semi-fixed ammo, I believe this is unique in the world for artillery rounds. In PLA hands each case can be used 4 times before they are scrapped.Metal recycling will be a thing for multiple years after that war! So many brass laying and hulk of steel. We will see shipload of them if they cannot melt them in ingot at new plant in Mariupol, not sure the old ones are still usable.
How many time an artillery casing can be refurnished ? Someone know ?
Is this a good utilization rate in comparison to brass cases? In PLA hands each case can be used 4 times before they are scrapped.
Do you really need to plate brass an artillery shell? Steel should do fine.Due to lack of brass domestically China developed brass plated steel cases for semi-fixed ammo, I believe this is unique in the world for artillery rounds. In PLA hands each case can be used 4 times before they are scrapped.
Mysteriously this technology started showing up in Russian ammo too in recent years, if you know what I mean.
Doesn't brass lead to better seal and increase chamber pressure?Do you really need to plate brass an artillery shell? Steel should do fine.
Brass plated steel is still steel, the strength of the material is still steel. It doesn't suddenly become brass.Doesn't brass lead to better seal and increase chamber pressure?
Steel will have corrosion over timeBrass plated steel is still steel, the strength of the material is still steel. It doesn't suddenly become brass.
