The Russian Caspian Flotilla is by far the most powerful Naval force on the Caspian.

2 x Gepard class FFGs
6 x Buyan class corvettes
1 x Tarantul class corvette
3 x Matka class missile boats
4 x Shmel (Project 1204) gunboats

The Gepard FFGs and the Buyan corvettes are very modern and capable vessels. The Tarantul is also very capable, but not as new.

I came across an article with some photos from the Avistar-SP plant. Plenty of work going on the Il-76MD-90A there nowadays.
