I didn’t say anything negative about the Norwegian frigate. I said being in harbor, it was not closed up as it would be if it were under threat. You're very harsh on that episode. The truth was and the inquiry commission findings confirmed it that was nothing wrong with Navantia F310 class of frigate of the Royal Norwegian Navy wich in my opinion are very good ships. It is an different matter and the findings confirmed that the ship company and there's command did not know wat they wore doing and even after the collision with the tanker panicked and abandoned ship wich could have been save and worse to occult this fiasco the Royal Norwegian Navy began leaking stories in the press that was samething wrong with the Navantia frigate design.
Well of course now nobody can prove, at least not without great difficulty, whether it was incompetence alone which sank her, or incompetence coupled with Ukrainian missiles. For some reason known only to themselves the Russians appear to think the former is less embarrassing.I guess we won't be getting pictures any time soon.
And what an embarassment for Russia
Ouch. I didn't expect Russia would lose Moscow in this war.
One thing the PLAN should definitely take note of: don't name any ship a politically sensitive name like Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong. Getting these sink would devastate morale.Ouch. I didn't expect Russia would lose Moscow in this war.
PLAN ships named after individuals such as Zheng He are generally training ships, so that's not really an issue. One thing the PLAN should definitely take note of: don't name any ship a politically sensitive name like Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong. Getting these sink would devastate morale.
PLAN already did a very good job banning ships from being named after individuals. I'd imagine getting a ship named Mao Zedong or Peng Dehuai sunk would be just as devastating.

Unless that sailor was smoking in the powder room next to the shells, that could cause an accident. But the Moskva was not a WW2 type battleship, but rather a missile cruiser. It is more embarrassing if it was caused by some sailor smoking. This shows lack of basic professionalism.
