Russia to world: Our new nukes are ‘no bluff’
Everyone knows nukes are no bluff. Especially nukes from the few countries that have various abilities to deliver them. No one is calling it a bluff. Which begs the question, why does Russia feel threatened enough to show their world ending abilities? Are they so far behind in conventional ways, they feel threatened enough by the USA that they need to show off things no one else bothers showing? No one wants to resort to these things and the idea is to avoid it. Russia is basically saying to USA, back off or else you risk provoking us in escalating to full scale war which we cannot hope to win at all so have to resort to nukes.
This move may explain why they felt quite comfortable operating in Ukraine and Syria without US/ NATO intervention. Until recently USA didn't do much militarily. This could possibly explain why Russian commanders felt more comfortable sending huge numbers of mercenaries in without strong air support. They may have believed the US would abandon their position instead of escalating, like they have done so far in Ukraine and Syria. I'm refraining from making any judgement on which side is more in the right because I'm not sure myself, but just from current events, it's quite possible this is the case. At least it fits the narrative. Anyway, now that US has responded, Russia is reacting by gesture and action.
