I must admit footage of carrier ops in the Med on RT today clashes with the 'rusty old tub' image of AK. flight deck looked pristine, and arial shots showing the carrier making sufficient knots for launching showed far less smoke than when she was steaming through the English channel.. but what the state of play is beneath the freshly painted surface is anybody's guess.
yes that was interesting, I'd no idea until today that Bastion units had been deployed to Syria.
