I read on Twitter that Kirov class battlecruiser Admiral Lazarev is getting new paint and maintained instead of being scrapped.
Does someone here have pictures showing that and more information ?

So is it getting crapped or re-activated ?

I could quickly (I'm cooking a lunch right now :) find only this:

which says
- the ship underwent repairs during 2014;
- the schedule of the shipyards in the Russian Far East not clear yet for 2015, but
- the ship probably wouldn't make it Severodvinsk (through the Arctic Ocean -- to join two Kirov-class ships (I intentionally don't call them "battlecruisers") there, with one of them being refurbished:

(named "Адмирал Ушаков" now) will be dismantled)

If I find something more specific, I'll post.

The missile cruiser Moskva, the flagship of the fleet in the Black Sea, will return to the Naval Factory No. 13 (Sevastopol) in Spring 2015 to undergo a thorough modernization. Its capital is expected to last at least four years, with a service planned return to 2019. The modernization should concern all buildings systems (electronics, weapons). Source: Lenta Comment: the delay in the ASA of the first unit of the Project 11356M (summer 2015), the frigate Admiral Grigorovicth, is even more bad news. The modernization of the Ladny frigate (1135 Project), also performed at the Naval Factory No. 13 of Sebastopol, and his imminent return to service (the building has carried out a post-repair sea last December 17-19) No 'not prevent the fleet from the Black Sea to accuse a capability gap in its surface means. Unless a unit is transferred from the Baltic Fleet (Project 11540?) To the Black Sea to compensate for this gap. Finally, at the origin, Zvezdochka (Severodvinsk), which should make the modernization of all cruisers Project 1164. The repair of the Moskva Sevastopol is therefore akin to a form of economic aid to Crimea

Earlier in 2014 we had a discussion how many aircraft will Russian armed forces (VVS in particular ) receive in that year . Those were posts #923 and #924 . Back then, we were talking about 260 new aircraft , number seemed a bit inflated .

Now we have real report for last year and it goes like this :

VVS received 142 fixed wing aircraft , including 53 Su-30 + Su-35, 16 Su-34 , 28 transport and training aircraft and 18 modernized (not new) Mig-31 BM .

It also received 135 helicopters including 46 attack helicopters (probably Mi-28 ) and 72 airborne assault helicopters (Mi-8 and Mi-24 derivatives)

Long-range (strategic) aviation received seven modernized Tu-95 MS and Tu-160 .

You could find this and other interesting details in article below (in Russian)

Russia's largest shipbuilding company JSC PO "Sevmash" based in Severodvinsk has published the list of new equipment being ordered for the overhaul of Admiral Nakhimov. The list is probably accurate because it was published on a Russian government online B2B trading platform. Admiral Nakhimov is a Kirov class nuclear-powered missile cruiser (Project 1144.2).
