The Okhotnik should be much cheaper than a Su-34 once it is serially produced. It does not need to have life support, cockpit, and it has a single engine. The Russians wanted to sell the Su-75 for $25-30 million USD. The Okhotnik should be somewhat cheaper than the Su-75.

The Su-34 costs $36 million USD. The Su-75 is cheaper at $25-30 million USD. The Okhotnik should be even cheaper. Simple as that.

No life support, no cockpit, no afterburner, the serial product will have no TVC. I would not be surprised if the radar is simplified as well. Probably costs $15-20 million USD.

Russian mechanics have restored a Ukrainian Kirpi armored personnel carrier, made in Turkey. The Kirpi armored vehicle was abandoned by a Ukrainian unit in the Kursk region of Russia after three wheels were damaged. During its evacuation by the Russian 83rd separate guards airborne assault brigade, the armored vehicle was attacked by a Ukrainian drone. Mechanics have restored the Kirpi armored personnel carrier, which is now used by Russian units. The Turkish Kirpi 4x4 armored vehicle was developed by the BMS company in 2009, technical information about it is in the link to the video in the comments to the video. Kirpi armored personnel carriers are well-rated by military experts and receive positive feedback in the Ukrainian army. Ukraine has received about two hundred Kirpi 4x4 armored vehicles, the main purpose of which is to transport personnel. Several captured Kirpi armored vehicles are reportedly already being used by the Russian army.

We publish footage of the production of the Russian loitering munition "KUB" by ZALA AERO. The drone "KUB" has been used since 2022, it was shown for the first time in 2019, it is still being produced despite the appearance of the drone "Lancet". The drone "KUB" is cheaper than the drone "Lancet", it is mainly equipped with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead with octogen. Due to its tactical and technical characteristics, the drone "KUB" demonstrates high efficiency in defeating enemy manpower. Now an automatic target designation system is being introduced at the final stage of the flight. The kamikaze drone "KUB" is constantly being upgraded, it is made of radio-absorbing materials. The exact characteristics of the drone "KUB" are difficult to name, since it is constantly being improved. Now it is known that the weight of the drone "KUB" is from 10 to 15 kg, the flight range already exceeds 50 km. The drone reaches speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour and carries a payload of 3 kg; the drone’s flight duration is 30 minutes.

A drone this simple should have more automation in its production process. The video reel of the factory were a little disappointing.

The Su-57 took a perfectly normal amount of time to develop. It took 10 years from flight of first T-50 prototype to introduction into service. Compare this with the F-22 which took 15 years from YF-22 flight to introduction into service.

I think people also need to take a broader perspective in terms of the era, politics and economics before you go comparing development timelines for aircraft. There are probably a huge number of factors that go into determining how long a program takes, many of which outsiders are never going to be informed about.

Thats the theory though the actual cost of Russian development is a mistery most often than not, we only know about delays usually but rarely about costs overruns and over pricing.

I think this video is old, but I'm not sure. Another USAF fighter gets nudged out of the way

Not true. For example we heard about the cost increase of the Yasen when they made the Yasen-M. They even made public the price in rubles of both. And that is a nuclear attack submarine. About as secret a technology as you can get short of a strategic one.

Now because of the conflict less information gets released. But before the conflict started everything was made public. Even today Russian citizens can get access to public government procurement databases. Which include information on the tender, the winner, the strike price, etc. It is just that today because of the conflict a lot of information is obscured.
