Awesome videos Aksha, and that is a gorgeous aeroplane, and I know I'm repeating myself, but it bears repeating, to see the aircraft under construction, what is equally interesting are the frank admissions that Su-47 and Mig 1.44 were disappointments. The T-50 is very definitely a new aircraft, and equally certain that it is also a Flanker. Remember the Brats little mantra---- "A Flanker, is a Flanker, is a Flanker" and yes, I should copyright that, LOL. Again thanks for posting,,,,can someone tell me what the Indian Air Force envisions as the Indian version, how will FGFA or whatever they call it differ from PAK-FA
The Indian version FGFA was supposed to have a new radar system and avionics, particularly made for the IAF, but it looks like we will now have derivative versions of Russian avionics. The IAF has particularly asked for a full 360 degree capability. Mission computers will be Indian along with quite a bit of the software.
It is possible that the EW suite will be entirely Indian, but this is just me speculating.
The FGFA will primarily use Indian weapons and there's quite a list of them already. Of course, Russian weapons will be put to use, possibly along with some Israeli A2G weapons.
The Russian ASR for the PAKFA was submitted in 2000 while IAF's ASR was ready only in 2010. So there are a lot of goodies that have been added to the list since 2000 and we won't necessarily know them all. Whenever India fishes for new changes, the Russians always bite. It is possible that the 40+ changes IAF has asked for from the original PAKFA will be seen even in the second stage version of PAKFA for the VVS. Out of the 40 changes, the only change that we know about today is the 360 degree radar capability.
If the two seat ever comes to fruition, then that aircraft could be very different from the Russian version.
