It isn't just a one sided trade where China is buying more Russian energy (oil, gas, coal). Russia is also buying a lot more Chinese goods than they used to. Including machine tools, vehicles (cars, trucks), consumer appliances, etc. Russia is expanding its ports in the Far East, including building new ones to export coal, has been financing a multi-year program to expand its railroad connections to China, and has recently finished a railroad bridge to China. The Power of Siberia pipeline is also expanding its supply of gas to China at a rate of like 50% a year.The growth in trade is pretty incredible considering the size of Russia's economy and how far Russia's main ports are from China.
I wonder how much of that 240 billion is from oil though
Just think about it. Thanks to Western sanctions, the Russians have basically been switching their purchases from Europe, South Korea, and Japan into China as fast as they can.
