Thanks for your response Finn. Here is my reply.
America has contributed a lot to the world and the world has contributed a lot to America. America was clearly the most influential leader after World War II. After the Cold War, America has been struggling to find a way to lead the world, and the world has been doubting whether or not they should follow America. America is somewhat confused about how to take care of itself, too. America will be in GOOD shape from now to 2020, but its status as the world's leader will be diminishing.
Latin America has a history of nonstop, internal strife and a history of straining to deal with international factors, but Latin America is gradually improving at an unpredictable rate. Compare Latin America in the early 1900s to today. Latin America has been stabilizing and uniting. Latin America has an incredible amount of natural resources and lots of people. In Latin America most people are poor, the organized crime is powerful, and the businesses and governments are self-serving, but I see gradual improvements in Latin America.
In regard to IDonT, thanks for your reply and here is mine:
Russia still has a large population. 100 million is still a large size (compare Japan's population size to Russia's) and Russia's population lives better today than during the Cold War. Russia's declining population size has more to do with culture and less to do with lack of resources. Russia can change its culture by 2020 to fix their population problem. If this solution is not big enough to repel international challenges in the form of economics, politics, and military maneuvers, Russia still has lots of strategic and tactical nukes combined with lots of natural resources.
Russia's economy is in good shape because Russia has one of the world's largest gas reserves, Russia has large oil reserves, Russia has lots of other natural resources, and Russia sells lots of weapons. Russia's energy reserves will become more valuable from now to 2020. Russia is not just a giant frozen land, either. Russia has lots of natural resources besides energy resources. Russia's arms industry is no longer on par with America's, but Russia still has a good arms industry. It is not the best, but it can still attract major deals around the world.
Yes, Russia has a large landmass and not enough people to watch over all of it, but Russia still has lots of strategic and tactical nukes.
Because of these reasons, Russia is not doomed. Russia can take care of its people, it has considerable influence in international economics, and it is still a major player in international politics. Russia will not become a world leader from now to 2020, but Russia will still be a world power.
