We're at stage 1 right now, approaching stage 2 as the online wars over whether it's fake or not have already started.
Deep Seek went through the same process, but it went a lot faster because the West had already achieved the same capability, just far more expensively. It will take a lot longer for Chinese robotics to be accepted as being superior, since Western robotics is behind. It took an entire decade for DJI to convince the West of their market dominance. Even now they claim DJI is only better in consumer drones and the US is still ahead in industrial and military drones.
