China's robotic industry is witnessing a golden developing era as showed by the diversified robots at the 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing from Aug 21 to 25, according to a report by Xinhua on Monday.

The event attracted over 400 experts from home and abroad to discuss cutting-edge technologies and industrial development.

More than 600 innovative products brought by 169 companies were on display during the conference, and over 60 new products were launched during the event.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of July 2024, China holds more than 190,000 effective robot-related patents, accounting for about two-thirds of the world's total.

China has been the world's largest industrial robot market for 11 consecutive years, and the newly installed capacity has accounted for more than half of the global market in the past three years.

Service robots have achieved large-scale application in the fields of family service, medical care and other fields, and special robots have played an important role in the fields of air and sea exploration and emergency rescue.

Walking robots make no sense, so much effort devoted to simple motion, when a wheeled bottom chassis would work better. Can keep the upper half for manipulation.
The closer you can make robots move like human being, the less you wil have to change the environments where you want robots to replace the human labour. That will tremendously lower the bar for adoption.
