@NiuBiDaRen you play gta online? i swear i keep seeing your exact username lmao.
anyways, from my personal experience, malaysian chinese are way way worst than sgreans.
But not that sgreans are much better tho. I once argued with this guy in a SG academics discord group about the Xinjiang accusations when the topic was brought up, (the organisation which created this discord group is a Singapore government recognised NGO btw so i thought the mods would be professional and objective...but i was wrong), I presented peer reviewed studies, facts, statistics, cross references etc. in my arguments and theres was nothing this guy could argue against me, so he started to call me a wumao. I told him that his pervious double standards and selective criticisms of china while blindly parroting western-centric talking points without any form of individual thinking and ignoring blatant facts shows a complete lack of substance, basic rigor and by extension, is actually in fact a form of self-loathing against your own race. one could in fact be racist and discriminative to your own. (yes he is Chinese)
I told him how pathetic it is to resort to ad hominem attacks and name calling when u cant rebut the arguments. And the great irony of using the term "wumao". This term is always used by the same people who claimed that they "love the chinese people but hate the government, and wants chinese voices to be heard", yet this very term is used to
dehumanise chinese people as mere bots and trolls not capable of thinking for themselves, so as to invalidate and discredit chinese voices, opinions and viewpoints, effectively suppressing them. which is not only comically ironic but frankly despicable.
He then call me "glass heart" and some other names. The moderator then came in to end the argument but sided with him, the mod told me that theres nothing wrong with being "sinophobic"(the same mod that said how bad racism, islamophobia or any form of discrimination is), and that my sources despite being peer reviewed, fact based and supports my points, is somehow still not convincing enough. The famous study published by Harvard ash center is one of the sources i cited, which the mod claims to have a "high chance of unreliability". When i told him if he is doubting Harvard University's academic integrity, and if so on what basis? the mod immediately tell me to "not put words in his mouth" and then threaten to ban me lmao, meanwhile the other guy didn't even provide a single source to back his claims, let alone scrutinised or peer reviewed, and straight talking out of his ass. Then like 2 other accounts starts joining this guy to insult me in with names while have nothing of substance to argue. In the end im just speechless by their sheer ignorance and stupidity and stopped using their discord server,
But to be fair, the most important thing is to know who the real culprits are, at least for this particular situation. Judging by their Chinese standards and the slang used, typing in traditional chinese characters and being so deep into the anti-chinese rabbit hole, I highly doubt the above mentioned people are actually Singaporean. Theres no way. They are most likely one of those immigrants from HK or TW who came here to study, which is actually in big numbers here and rising, and some of them are becoming new citizens as well. Certainly not born and bred. No doubt there are quite a number of ignorant sinkies out there who severely lacked pre-frontal cortex, still, the existence of these new type of people who labels themselves as "singaporean" when they argue online must be known as well. They might just be an extension of same bunch of cockroaches who relabel themselves when they go elsewhere to spread their ideas.
but regardless, if u think sgreans are bad, malaysian chinese are 10x worst in my experience, period.
