Love those "big nose" perspective diagrams with all the ordnance. Fun for kids and fun for me.

Wish I were there to go wwith you bro. Sounds like a GREAT time!Yep, off to Scott AFB for its 100th anniversary, aviation has deep roots in the ST. LOUIS area, think Lindberg, Scott, etc, etc.
Yes that would be awesome Jeff. I'm mobile now but suffice to say my first bird was the Royal Airforces A-400
On monday we accompanied my grandson, poopeye, to the navy recruiter office. His mom and dad were there also. He's going to Navy boot camp in Great Lakes IL in late July..this summer! He's in the DEP (Delayed Entry Program) since November last year. The recruiter gave him the info he needs for going off to Boot Camp.
I remember my recruiter MMI Benon, bless his heart, told me nothing about navy boot camp. That's how recruiters rolled back in the day. They did not have to worry about recruiting anyone..because of the military draft.
So in a little more than a month poopeye will be heading off to Boot Camp. My stepson and myself took him to lunch a couple of weeks ago to give him the straight scoop on what to expect while serving with the USN. He was very open to what we told him and listened well. He's so blessed because of great parenting and he's a true believer in Jesus...
Congratulations to your grandson! What will be his MOS after he graduate from boot camp?
Wow, that's neat. Will he be on surface ships or on base do you know or that it depends on the Navy? He's going to be an ....a radarman in other words...That school is 10 weeks long in Great Lakes IL.
