QBZ-191 service rifle family

Really hope one day (yes, one day in the distant future far far away) I can live to purchase a 5.56 (or 6.8) version of this thing in my sweet Cali home...
Not with California's gun law, that is.

Also, such the day came when Norinco set up subsidiary to make "firearms" for local consumption, my hunch is the US no longer the top dog.

Since Canada also going after firearms that "look offensive/AR-ish", to experience QBZ-191 anywhere in N.America would be "most unlikely". You've better luck to make yourself a prominent gun blogger/tuber, and get invitation from Norinco(?) to experience QBZ-191 in China - y'know, hands-on shooting, field-striping, tour of the manufacturing facility, etc.

Or have a trip to southeast asia. There is a decent chance some SEA country would import some version of 191 in next decade and many of them holds official shooting experience for tourists.

No, Im a righty, but switch shoulder alot in MOUT; Weapon-body-wall

I think that's because AKs come with a huge claw of an extractor. Also the loose tolerance and simpler rotating bolt allows for easier extraction.

That probably why you see pics of grunt sticking an assembled cleaning rod in the M16's triangular handguard.
Oh ok. I also practice transitions but I still transition back to my right side before slinging my rifle.

Another advantage to the AK is the fact the 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 rounds are tapered instead of nearly straight walled like 5.56x45, which also aids in extraction.

Kalashnikov had the right idea to have a long one piece cleaning rod attached below the barrel, though its rarely needed on the AK!

The original M-16s were sabotaged by petty traditionalists in the US Army Ordinance Board, who hated the new, light, black plastic toy gun and wanted to keep using their heavy, wood stocked, already outdated M-14s.

Modern M16A4s and M4s with modern M855 ammunition are way more reliable. I never had a Type 4 malfunction in any issued rifle that required mortaring or cleaning rod. With my personal AR-15s and commerically purchased ammo of varying degrees of quality, yes I've had quite a few Type 4s.

AK's complete rod and trap door cleaning kit was a much much better system than the rarely used butt stock door thing on the end of the M16.

I'm actually pretty surprised how easy my ARs are to clean these days.

Back to topic.................................

Supposedly 191 has a high quality barrel. I assume that means it is cold hammer forged. Any idea what the sustained MOA is on the carbine and DMR?
