In that case, it'd be a departure from the current designation system - which the first 3 letters denote its type and role, number denote its year of acceptance into service, a "-1" follows denote it as an improved model of the series; in the case of the carbine version of QBZ95 series, there's a letter B at the end.

Which makes this QBZ191 an odd bird...we really don't know until there's a proper debut, like a CCTV7 special 30-min programme or something.

The new naming system went into effect in 2013 apparently

A longer handguard would also covered up the gas block adjustment.
Most of the pics available are the carbine version, few are the normal barrel length version; DMR version only shown in low-res partial pic so we don't know if it'd be same handguard length for all 3 barrel length verison, however at its current iteration, it should still be enough real estate on the top rail to mount rifle scope and night vision gear at the front when need be.

A fairly credible Weibo user claims that, based on an RfQ posted on the official military procurement website, the designated marksman version is called QLU191. I have not been able to find the RfQ to verify this info.
