QBZ-191 service rifle family

Really don't see the point with suppressor on it

All the attachments are geared for night fighting, close range and room clearance would be my guess, since the PLA prefer dedicated night vision/thermal scopes for long range night engagements.

The suppressor would be especially relevant for night time room clearing training, since you really need to know the length of your weapon intimately so you don’t need to consciously think how far back you need to stand when scanning a room and how to hold your rifle when entering a room.

Not having that suppressor in training means there is a small but not negligible chance you will catch your suppressor on a doorframe or wall corner when doing things for real, which can easily cost you your life and maybe even your whole team’s theirs if opfor has real bullets.

Stop spamming the forum with stupid pointless videos. The forum is not a Youtube video review site

joke of a video:

>Doesn't explain or answer the video title (Doesn't say in any way why the "QBZ191 is worse than you think"
>"any change in the PLA's organization/design philosophy must be copied from the US wahwahwah"
>Talks more about politics, ranks, the entire PLA
>Barely actually talks about the rifle itself
>Only part actually on the rifle is from a soldier's quote, which is very positive (completely contradictory to the title)

While Task and Purpose and other MAJOR media outlets are generally held in contempt by senior members (as in members like @Blitzo ) when it comes to high tech stuff like J-20’s, they haven’t been fully judged in regards to reporting on ground equipment. I think the video deserves to be posted and judged here in order to have a record of our judgement.

In this case, for the pros, it addressed certain things like the scopes, design process, and the keyhole garbage typically spouted by Westerners. In addition Cappy brought up a comparison between the design processes of the NGSW and the 191. I thought that was a nice touch along with the ending mention of the previous state of the infantry equipment.

However for the cons, it unfortunately brings up irrelevant information about NCO’s, the old “China copies everything”, and lack of combat experience (aka the “let’s s@@t on China as much as we can to make ourselves feel better” diatribe package). Let’s be real here though. This is the default Western mentality, so we are just going to have live with it for now like how students have to deal with the one idiot who keeps on asking the teacher to repeat their instructions. In addition, the title of the video is atrocious and reminds me of those bot channels ran by Filipinos, Indians and Vietnamese who want to get some of that sweet ad revenue.

So all in all, despite the cons, I think the video is alright for this thread if you can CITE the relevant information in your posts. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is starting to use this forum for information. So don’t just post it and ask what we think about it. Instead, post quotes from the video with the time stamps.

As always, avoid the YouTube commenters since they most likely didn’t even finish watching the beginning two minutes in order to get a heart from Task and Purpose. Also of course, just “lol” at the diatribe and move on.

I kind of disagree, I think taskandpurpose videos offer so little "pros" that the cons make it unbearable.

Especially because the "pros" are such room temperature basic facts and knowledge that almost everyone here should already comprehend anyhow. This, given how egregious its mistakes are, there's no reason to be generous.

That is why as a blanket rule, channels like task and purpose are not encouraged to be posted here.

Here's a video by Classic Firearms on the 191's features and a bit of Chinese military small arms history better than a lot of others but still no where near the 191 videos by cabbage on YouTube.
Yes indeed, and in order to have some proper comparison, here's one from cabbage

"One", because cabbage has 3 videos on QBZ-191, including the one above.

Then again, Americans tends to crap on anything foreign until they get shot at by it...look at how they fancy the AK47.
