QBZ-191 service rifle family

It seems like the Chinese designed the gun, optics and ammo to fullfill modern requeriments while minimizing costs, like they always do. I guess the unit price are still confidential. At least the qbz-95 costed 400 to 700$, depending on the source.
That’s the commercial cost. I looked up the cost of a NRS 97 it’s right now new about $850.00 I am assuming that’s Canadian so the conversion to US is about $650.00
Military weapons are rarely bought by military at MSRP. In example a commercial clone of the US M4A1 made by the actual US DOD Contractor FN USA will cost $1840.00 MSRP that same contractor bids the US Army for the real deal at $650.00. Now keep in mind that’s a US DOD bid. Though FN USA is owned by FNH who track is down is owned by Flanders. It’s still built in the US with US laws and dollar exchange. Production mass and testing standard. So that 650 is probably very close to the edge of profit margin.
Norinco is a Chinese state owned with the RMB economy and mixed capitalist/Communist subsidies. So factor in PPP and state factory type. Production mass Testing and standard I would bet below $400 usd equivalent.

Full length rifles on a VBSS..couple of other missing things a NSW unit these days would have.
Quick correction:
VBSS can be conducted by non SOF personal as well. In the US Navy, they have VBSS teams that consist of volunteer sailors with extra training to perform certain operations that include anti narcotics, counter terrorism, and others.

As for the equipment, granted, full length carbines aren’t optimal for VBSS, and given the fact that the soldiers in the photo are Jiaolong commandos, they should be running high speed loadouts. However, they still get the job done. Other countries have a similar set up. Example:

I would have thought weapon lights, red dot, suppressor are essential for this kind of the operation. They don't look like treating it very serious to me.
