QBZ-191 service rifle family

I really don't know why this is. I think there are trust issues with the optics, hence they stick with reliable irons except in few instances. I remember in last years Ladakh situation, even troops deployed to supposedly respond to possible Indian attack were equipped with latest gear but still using iron sights. Granted they were still using qbz-95's but judging by export type 97 there aren't issues with optics losing zero or whatever, just feel awkward cuz you gotta hold your head higher.
Old people in charge don't trust optics.

Is the barrel length of the rifle variant shorter than its QBZ-95 equivalent? According to wikipedia, QBZ-191 AR has a barrel length of 14.5 inches and QBZ-95 AR has a barrel of 18.2 inches. How do the performances compare?

We don't have any information on the performance yet.

Where are you getting this? The new optics have only recently been put into mass production. Not all units with 191s can be expected to have them on day one because there is something called manufacturing

. Furthermore, there have been plenty, I mean a freaking boatload of images on this very thread that show the new rifles paired with optics, not to mention many images elsewhere showing the new optics mounted on QBZ-95s. So I don't understand how you got the impression that there are trust issues with the optics. Also a real possibility is that they are still going through the familiarization process with the 191, meaning they're required to be trained to use the iron sights, thus explaining why in those particular images the optics are absent. These are just some of the far more plausible explanations on why optics are missing in the images.

P.S. Use your head and have some common sense.

What trust issues did you hear about? As for the awkwardness, that would make sense given that cheek welds aren’t standard issue equipment.
That's the thing, nothing. I can only speculate that it's issues with zeroing and durability as those would be major reasons to not have them on and instead rely on irons.

I'm getting it from the real spotty distribution of them. Even for the propaganda shots we're discussing here they are missing.

Why were they not distributed to troops deployed to Tibet with all new equipment outside of their QBZ-95's facing a very real possible combat situation with the Indian Army in an environment where optics, especially magnified ones would be advantageous? Who is actually getting these optics as they come freshly sealed, if not combat troops? Why is tooling up to make them so difficult if the design has no issues and the troops love em and everyone wishes they could get one. This is China, they have the industrial capacity to make basically anything in massive amounts, so what's the hold up here? Have you personally used it or know someone who does who can be at hand to answer questions or test them?

You need to calm down, this isn't a personal attack, or trolling you.

Simply because it isn't a priority. The old equipment still works and will continue to work. If you're talking about the border area then maybe you should've done some research beforehand because they are receiving much more important equipment like artillery, tanks, and helicopters. When it comes to individual equipment, priority for it has always been given to more important things than some gun and scope. This is literally the same for everyone else, just look at the US marines.

I'm just focusing on the optics here because that is the original topic.

So then where are the optics going if troops that are facing a possible combat situation where shooting at long distances at infantry aren't getting them? Idk why what I'm saying seems so crazy, especially since this will be China's first time designing and fielding such an optic at mass scale. I doubt it's perfect and they are just stamping them out as fast as possible without monitoring for issues.
