China had a M16 copy called CQ but still made type 97.
CS/LR17 is probably in some regards inferior to QBZ191 as China picked QBZ191 for itself.
I'm stupid, but do you mean chambered in 8.6mm or next to a 8.6 rifle.
We need to ask one of the people attending the show to take a picture of the barrel end of the handguard so we can confirm if it is indeed free floated lol

They are showing increasing domestic only systems across all domains (air, ground, naval) at Zhuhai, beyond only showcasing export oriented products.
I wouldn't be surprised if the eventually had a 191 export variant chambered in 556 or 545, but I think the current display is more just to indicate "we are showing this new rifle that we are using".
