Bannon talks about the trade deal with China as only armistice. Now here someone wants to destroy China economically why would he favors a pause or armistice. For the election and also it take time to move supply chain out of China.
So knowing the most right winger's train of thoughts it would be China's interest to engineer a global economic recession , sell of the bonds, and Jack up the price on shoes, clothes, toys shipping to US. Those belong to the last $300 billion worth goods Trump has threaten but has not done anything to it. This will affect US consumers quite a bit.

Simple tariff against US product or cut back on US purchase is not enough
