Because of his dad. He gave a talk on a video that got uploaded to youtube once and talked about how hard it was growing up to be Chinese. So in response, he learned to hate who he is in order to live his life.

Psychologically weak people with sheep mentality will often choose to deride and shame themselves and their own identity when they live in a society that has rivalry with their own in order to fit in and be liked. When the strong live in a society with a rivalry to their own, they always do so with dignity, upholding their own culture, and with a bottom line that when push comes to shove, they will always return to home team. Unlike the weak who would rather attack themselves than offend society, the strong would rather take on the entirety of society than disgrace themselves or their home country. The strong are always proud of who they are no matter where they are; the weak define who they are by where they are and never have the courage to take a view that dissents from or displeases the majority.
If Chang had to move to China, he'd immediately start writing articles about how he was fooled by Americans and now he sees China is the true superpower.

He's writes a book in 2001 called "The Coming Collapse of China" with a date of 2006 for this to happen.
When this doesn't happen, he gives out 2011. His prediction then gets updated again to 2012, then 2016 and then 2017.
And this is the guy on Fox News which is America's most popular news programme (and which Trump loves).
It means a huge number of Americans are subjected to fake news reports about China from a fake expert.

It is pathetic. Try listening to him for 2 minutes and it becomes painfully obvious to anyone with any basic knowledge. Or a lick of sense.
Heck, I'm not an economist, and even I can spot his nonsense. Mostly empty rhetoric.
Even when he starts what looks like a viable possible argument based on some critique of the current Chinese economy, he always seems to assume all problems are insoluble, why, because it's China. Even relatively easy to solve issues. Bonkers.
One example is his claim pollution will destroy the Chinese economy at the same time the Chinese government is making huge investments in this. They are not oblivious to it. Or his claim China's 4 largest banks would collapse in 5 years back in 2001. Guess what, 18 years have passed, and US banks collapsed first. China isn't the only place with issues with non-performing loans, and, what people like him are simply too dumb to understand, is that in a state controlled banking sector like China's, debt can be way more easily wiped out than with a private banking sector.
I have heard of Aurora OS. Supposedly it is being used by Russian government users because they have complete access to the source code.
