Hi Duskylim,

Actually that PLA flag is a general flag for all PLA military forces, and Chinses navy ships often use that flag:

BTW, PLA ground force has a unique flag like PLAN flag, however I can hardly find it in most army events, I found only one clear image for may flag, I do not know maybe because it is too ugly LOL?

Good find ! with this 3 new now 6 x 072B/Yuting III all for ESF, ceremony in their homeport to Shanghai-Qiujiang 31°18'30.04"N 121°33'19.84"E we see the blue roof with a small tower on the corner.

They have in more 9 x 072A.

Thats the dry section of the ship that loads/unloads through the bow opening, right? Are there any photos or info about the rear well section? Its dimensions? Is it connected to this front section with a ramp that vehicles can go over?

I believe the entire cargo section/well deck is continuous from the bow opening to the aft opening

That photo I think is taken from the bow, looking to the aft of the ship.

I'm pretty sure we're looking at the bow door. The opening is more or less squared, compared to the rectangular (wider than its height) opening on the aft door that's visible in all outside images of 072. Plus there's the tapered walls near the end.

Actually, looking at the all the available images of 072, i'd say it doesn't have any deck well, contrary to some writings online. And I think that's a good thing. Having a deck well is good for launching small craft from a ship. But it doesn't really help with launching amphibious vehicles. So better to use 072 for amphibious vehicles and let the smaller craft be carried by 071. I guess later subvariants of 072 may have a small well deck, though.
