Great to see PLAN working on older units and bringing them up to standard

This is what the naval game is about

These units were built when Chinese systems had not matured and advanced but the hulls are good and now they can be refitted with modern and updated electronic systems

I see all the refit artworks have this lantern thing on mast. *IF* this is what they are really doing perhaps its a way of allowing for the older ships to have a decent PAR radar when it would not be feasible to refit it with the 4 panel radar seen on 052c and d.

VLS is just a speculation so far by Fan Boys, I think. So far what is proven by photos is that structures and equipments are being removed, that's all.

My reason for speculating a cutter is that, the size, displacement are right. Converting to cutter is cheaper than putting up new expansive equipments for the navy. And it can serve for a good purpose. There is only one ship in this class, installing only one set of system just for this one ship seems not economical and unnecessary.

seems unlikely since there is a lot of changes and i'm not sure if the current installation would allow for that.
