Either way the entire thing together is one of the most candid descriptions of US reconnaissance along Chinese shores... and there's definitely some success of socializing a feeling of resentment and hostility from the Chinese side.
I really wonder if the bright minds who decided amping up the recon missions would not lead to higher tensions, or if they actually thought it would be worth it to get a greater military and intelligence edge over the Chinese military.
