Thank you for the comment, the bridge was awesome, I should have taken a pic with their Beidou GPS system which is at the back of the bridge.​

Now that is pretty big news if this is a general refit plan. Since they did not add the FL-3000N to the Type 052 DDGs, I would not have expected them to be put on these Type 053 FFGs.

Is that a test install I wonder, or an actual refit planned for other vessels too?

Since F-519 was moved to a reserve status as an experimental test-bed some time ago...I expect it is just a test and not a general refit plan.

Definitely not a wide refit, the frigate in question is just a test bed like you say.

Cannot remember seeing this here on SD, but I believe it was from 2013 and a Sino-Vietnamese South China Sea standoff.
