Very important PLAN keeps pressure on these anti piracy missions the minute you stop and it just grows back

Also it's China's only form of "operational real experience" the only token to overseas long distance deployments with no substitute

If China stops it then they are stopping their progress and really no point in building up new ships if you are not going to deploy them after all what are they for?

It costs to deploy but in my opinion it costs more to build a ship and then leave it in port nothing worse than that

China should seriously and I mean seriously consider piracy mission in other parts of the world like West Africa and Straits near Indonesia

Also make full use of anti smuggling, narcotics, illegal fishing, immigration and terrorism deployments

Plenty of sea lines need policing PLAN should in future have atleast

2-3 Flotillas of warships deployed made of 2 warships and a replenishment tanker that's 6-9 ships
1 carrier strike group 8 ships
And 1 amphibious assault group that's 6-8 ships

Add 3-4 oversea bases and you have a good network of naval system there to secure future growth

Hand over from the 17th task force to the 18th there's 5 warships not 6 because the tanker 890 is staying out there for 6 month deployment

Iran Navy rescues Chinese container ship from pirates

Iran’s naval forces have rescued a Chinese container ship from an attack by pirates in the Gulf of Aden.

The Iranian Navy said in a statement on Wednesday that five boats, each containing five armed pirates, attacked the Chinese ship, Xin Lian Yun Gang, in an attempt to hijack the vessel early this morning, but the Iranian Navy’s 31st fleet of war vessels foiled the move.

The Iranian destroyer was deployed to the area immediately after receiving an emergency call from the troubled vessel and forced the assailants to flee the scene by using light weapons and special operation teams, the statement added.

The Chinese vessel was reportedly on its way from Singapore to the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia when it came under attack in the Gulf of Aden. It continued its voyage after being rescued from the pirates.

In April 2012, Iran’s naval forces also rescued a Chinese cargo vessel seized by Somali pirates in international waters off the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Jask and detained the hijackers.

Visiting the Persian Gulf port of Iran called Bander Abbas

Iranian navy recently secured a Chinese cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden in a anti piracy mission maybe this is a good all visit linked to that or just a non routine stop

I think Iran has a good naval building capability why they never show any interest to build with China I never understand

They could build some pretty good FFG with ToT from China like the Type 054A they certainly have the money to do so

Maybe Iran and China can work together and do some cross decking and joint excercises in future

Also Iran will soon apply to join SCO.

Joining SCO is a good move by Iran, because it enables it to skirt Western sanctions, while not giving up its nuclear aspirations.

totally agree with you. iran and china is ripe to do a lot of joint projects together to the benefit of both countries. kudos to the Iranian navy for helping the Chinese cargo ship.

I think sanctions have something to do with it...
