Btw check the size of the USNS Mercy it looks like it weighs more than entire PLAN flotilla!!

Invitation of Foreign Navies by the USN to participate in RIMPAC, I believe was done in good faith, and to encourage friendship among "brothers of the sea". There is without any doubt "actions of curiosity" on the part of most if not all participants regarding the capabilities of the other Navies and their assets. Naval courtesy/diplomacy should however never encourage brashness. A local saying for "Curious Actions" is "Tau sama Tau" - we know what is to be known, BUT done quietly and with sophistication.

After all there's so many US ships and aircrafts, and its at Hawaii.

The total displacement of all four PLAN vessels is 45,550 tons. The USNS Mercy alone is 69,360 tons!

Heh, PLAN could have thrown in a 071 LPD, a 056 Corvette, and a 093 SSN and still be under Mercy's displacement.

great days for the Royal Brunei Navy :) (I believe it's either Darussalam (OPV-06) or Darulaman (OPV-08) in the bottom right corner -- accidentally I found out they had been exercising with the Singapore Intrepid (F-69) before the RIMPAC:
