Looks like that planes is on a lift. Well it's defintaly not on a USN CV. The USN has no internal aircraft lifts. Too much stuff in the overhead(ceiling) Bulkheads(walls) don't look right. Plus the pic looks to "clean" and pictures taken in a hangar on a CV are generally darker..Someone posted that it is a model. Could be. Probaly is.
Nice bright clean looking pictures though...
I don't know for sure what the PLAN is planning or doing with the Varyag but I know the USN would never have any active aircraft aboard a CV in the shipyard. If you see any aircraft on a USN CV in a shipyard they are just old hulks used for firefighting & rescue training.

Anything new on the Varyag since the first pictures in this thread? Does anyone know what it would be called if it enterd service?
And btw, I suppose nothing has yet come out of the rumors about Kiev or Minsk being refitted...

rumors? they are still amusement parks. there was a thread in the old forum discussing whether minsk and kiev should be reffited, but that was mere sinodefence speculation.
