additional I believe that the two-engine, two-seat L-15 advanced lead-in trainer (LIFT) will have the potential to form a carrier trainee aircraft. May be, the first planes at a carrier we will see are those trainer-aircrafts.
Could very well be. It is certainbly possible if they beef up the landing gear and if it has enough "punch" for getting off the ski-jump.

Probably going to show her off to a bunch of VIPs and don't want anyone to fall overboard.

Yep. Varyag is looking mighty clean these days. :) I knew she wasn't going to be used as a floating casino.

It's going to get interesting. A lot of folks around here will be (understandably) overjoyed if somehow the PLAN pulls it off and she sails soon under her own power.

Can anyone read what is written on those red flags on top of the railings?

I see that the Varyag is still sitting high in the water does this mean it probably still hasn't got any power plant yet?

Probably a safe guess...but not necessarily so. Fuel, supplies, ordinance, storgae, aircraft and othe heavy equipment would certainly also wiegh it down. I am not sure wether the engineering/propulsion alone would settly it a lot deeper.
