Well, I believe that last pic was actually an earlier one...from like July. Now, the Varyag is afloat again and the Island in the more recent pictures is red, looking like it has been primed for final painting. Just my take on it.drunkhomer said:

Well, seeing we havent heard anything of a deal between China and Russia, I would think they havent bought any Su-33 or MiG-29Ks from them. I think info like that would have been released/leached out on the net.
However, I wouldn't deny that it is a possiblity that China is modifiying a localy built J-10/J-11 for carrier ops, but I think its unlikely its gonna happen anytime soon due to them having virtual no experience in carrier capable aircrafts.
