Naval chief visits ‘Peace Ark’

KARACHI: The Chinese Navy hospital ship ‘Peace Ark’ has started providing medical services to the Pakistani patients. More than 800 patients have been treated by medical teams of ‘Peace Ark’, in which around 500 patients were treated onboard. Almost 300 cases of surgical, orthopaedic, dental and gynaecology problems were reported at the medical camp established at PNS Shifa. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila also visited ‘Peace Ark’ along with other dignitaries. Upon his arrival onboard, the naval chief was received by the mission commander Shen Hao and the commanding officer of the ship. The naval chief visited different departments of the hospital and was also briefed on ‘Mission Harmony’. pr

this is a very interesting picture, two Z8 helicopters on the deck, good but I think the Type 071 deck is long enough to use three Z8 simultaneously

The flight deck is around 69-70 metres long, the Z8 is 23 metres, I would make 1 foot of "wiggle" space the safety length between the rotating rotor blades that would allow operation of three Z8 sized helos together

Configure them with one at the back left, one middle right and and then front left again, no doubt the one closest to the edge at the rear can have a slight tail over hang giving little bit more space, plus Z-shape will give more space between the blades, orientation them this way its clear three can land on the deck

Just as Type 071 can take four LCAC but we only ever see one ( cus they have only two with the 3rd still at JN) they can load four helo in the hanger with three operation simultaneously but we only ever see two, PLAN has a habit of under utilisation

Once the Type 071 does not fail to surprise me

Japan's new Izumo "destroyer' (lol) is 248m long and operates 5 helicopters, so 2 for the 071 LPD is about right.

we've seen 2 Z-8 and 1 Z-9 on the deck at the same time. In emergency situation, you can cram a lot more on one of the landing spot while using the other one for take-off and landing, but that's obviously not going to happen here.
