Really like that first video. All it needs is some Victory at Sea music. The sounds of the ships sound oh so familiar! The PLAN looks very professional. I'm guessing the videos are about a year old..maybe a little less.

I think that was CCTV13 documentary just aired yesterday.

Just a little premature, no evidence of night ops, or operating out in blue water away from divert fields, not much of anything since basic quals back in Non 2013. Show me some real progress in April 2014, just not feeling it.

I agree 100% ^^^ I see nothing but stagnation.. let's see some night ops.. lets see more aircraft on deck..hell's bells lets see a rig the barricade drill or a fire drill. lets see the water washdown system in operation, lets see them fuel an aircraft with a charged hose.....let's see something!! new!!!. so far nothing NEW from the PLAN.

I got this snapshot from the above video because it reminded me of a very similar picture I saw before.



So I wondered whether this was footage from an earlier video mixed in that I didn't know about, or maybe they had the video footage shot quite some time ago but only released them recently.

I was thinking the Bird sequence reminded me of the openings of just about Every Japanese Anime opening In the History of the World!

PLAN needs to step the heck up their training tempo! I understand they are taking a very cautious and methodogical approach however they need to stop pussyfooting around and train like the real thing. Enough time have past by now to iron out any kinks they need to move to the next phase.. A higher pace of operational tempo training to become the well oil machine worthy of a world class carrier operators. You cannot learn new things if you do not take your training wheels off.

They need to put more birds on that deck and fly more training sorties. I want to see the deck crews handling multiple aircrafts, more coordination between the teams and to see the airboss yelling and screaming. I want to see control chaos. A busy flight deck with ordnance moving around, fuel line pumping and people double timing. Until the crew can work under those conditions there are not ready for commisioning. I can't stress enough in carrier operations if you are trained in handling only a couple aircrafts at a time you actually become more dangerous because you become complacent and lull into a false sense of safety.

It looks good on videos and pictures but in real life people die if you cannot work in that environment.
