Kuznetsov class vs Nimitz class.
Just a couple of small issues with the comparison.

1) It's the side view, not the front view.

2) When comparing like that, it is best to set both vessels at the end and edge, as opposed to having one offset. When they are offset, it does not show the true difference. In this case, the Kuznetsov Class which is over 100 ft shorter than the Nimitz, does not look that way.

3) I would also place the displacement and a major characteristic with the vessels to further show the true differences.

So, with that in mind...

I think they were reported to have meant to have gone out a little while ago, but who knows.

As with always, no photos of the PLA doesn't mean they don't exist.

It is probably also worth noting the Nimitz graphic shows the complete hull where as the Kuznetsov graphic only shows to the waterline.

That is correct. The Nimitz's deck is not as high as it shown in the comparo for the reason you stated.

What's that square red button on that protective oxygen mask for...anyone knows?

This is ah shutoff button to stop Oxygen flow!
There are two Systems for firefighting: the under-pressure and the over-pressure System.
While in the under-pressure System the firefighter has to create a under-pressure inside the mask by breathing in all the time to open a valve which Releases the Oxygen flow (valve is closing again), in the over-pressure System the Oxygen flow is all the time present, so you have all the time a small over-prssure inside the mask. By breathing in the pressure decrease and more Oxygen will flow into the mask to hold the pressure inside. Benefit of the overpressure System is that in case of a leaky mask the smoke is not able to get into the mask and the outcoming Oxygen is also alerting the firefighter that there is any leak (you can feel it on your Skin and possible also hear the flow).

So, in this case we can see a over-pressure System and the button is to close a valve inside which stops the Oxygen flow to take off the mask - otherwise the Oxygen would flow all the time while not wearing the mask like in this Situation in the photo.
By breathing in the first time the valve will automatically open again and the over-pressure System is active.

It looks big enough to scale for 1/72 planes, and you can actually get remote controlled planes at that scale, although kind of expensive a about $100 per plane and so far I've only seen real world propeller model like spitfire.

It's for his grandson. The story is here:

My kind of people. LOL!

Here's a guy who built a 1/72 scale USS Enterprise supercarrier and an entire air wing of 1/72 scale models to go on it. Took him 20 years, and it is not plastic.

He scratch built and worked with local machine shops to make everything.

I'll stick to 1/350 scale!
