I'm sure that's not another MiG-21. Looking at the side of the plane, it says Cy-1 (Cykoj (Sukhoi) in Russian?)

It looks somewhat like the Israeli Lavi

And between the pics it says "stealth spy," that just happen to be a guy from ATS (some other forum) who apparently got banned. Maybe he found it and put his name on it

The L-15 is also expensive as hell. Besides, the J-7 has a higher topspeed. Neither can mount a radar of any decent size. Take your pick.

topspeed is not so important in modern warefare. besides, the l-15 features more cocpit gadgets like mfds, a hud, fbw...

Re: Plaaf Pic Thread

now tell me, what the hell do you expect to do with a combat fighter derived from the MiG-AT in today's world? Low intensity warfare? Q-5 can take care of that, and much more cheaply too. Point defense? Doesn't have the top speed, and who the hell does point defense today anyways? It's not the Yum Kippur war. Air superiority? What the hell are you going to use as a radar? My flashlight? Multi Role? Well, aside from the point that it can't fight other birds, have you seen the payload? It can barely lift me, granted that I'm a fatass.

A trainer is made to do one thing: emulating the flight characteristics of the more advanced, and much more expensive, combat aircraft. And as combat aircrafts get more expensive, so do the trainers. But despite the rising cost, the trainer still only does one thing, and that's emulating flight characteristics.
