I wonder why there is no excitement in this forum over the CM-400AKG. It has a range of 240km and a speed of 5.5mach. It is a potential carrier killer.

Apparently the Pakistanis have it in their arsenal so it seems its development was completely under the radar. Before this showed up at the airshow I think some PLA officer mentioned that China had something better than the Brahmos. I wonder if he was referring to this.

However, I do not remember ever seeing any of the AAMs you have listed ever being displayed at Zhuhai before. That makes them exclusively PLA projects and as such, they will be far more secretive and selective about what they disclose and when.

Since most weapons testing, especially new weapons, are tested in remote bases, we will not know anything about these weapons that the PLA does not want us to know. I mean, have there been any pictures at all of many of the new PGMs before this year's show? And those are relatively low clearance projects the PLA allows for export.

I have a feeling we won't know for sure what stage of development these misses are at until the PLAAF starts to declassify them and/or as they are operationally deployed to frontline units.

Good points, I guess I was struck by the lack of imagery of the latest weapons being carried by aircraft like the J-10A, but as you suggest, the PLAAF is super secret about the status of their current weapons integration status, overall force strength and capability. Classic Sun Tzu...

Where did you get the speed and range figures from? The placard I have seen for the missile did not mention range or speed.
