What the hell they just let UCAV fly over their head willy nilly like that? That TB001 could've put an ATGM through Lei's window from that range.
I remember near the start of the year when Strait Thunder 2025A was happening people were still debating along the lines of:
Dude A "okay so risking a pilot for salami slicing is irresponsible, what if we send a drone to overfly the island instead?"
Dude B "yeah but what does that prove? They're going to shoot it down and even if you say we don't care it's unmanned, that's a loss of face"
Come end of the year PLAAF just goes haha UCAV go brrr and walk straight in.
To be fair, the imagery taken from that distance could be from quite a bit outside the island's de facto territorial waters/airspace. Modern optics have fairly long range after all.
So I wouldn't call it an overflight unless an aircraft itself flew over the island's soil.
The bridge is 20 km from the tower, when you take this account the perspective makes it seem like the photo is not from that far. I would say 40 km max.

You joke but this might cause the PLA some genuine headaches.
I can picture some poor PLA junior tactical staff member sweating bullets because he/she just cannot find whole ROCA formations that are supposed to be in their sector based on intelligence estimates, only to transpire that the whole force never even managed to make it out of their based on account of how long it took them to get out of bed.
just imagine the actual blockade or No fly zone for weeks..
