It's way inside apparently, at multiple spots:

The closest are only 8.8km from their coast. Some are so close shore missile batteries near the coast would be within naval gun fire range.

Any closer they might as well pull in at a dock and go buy some fruits from the locals.

What the hell they just let UCAV fly over their head willy nilly like that? That TB001 could've put an ATGM through Lei's window from that range.


I remember near the start of the year when Strait Thunder 2025A was happening people were still debating along the lines of:

Dude A "okay so risking a pilot for salami slicing is irresponsible, what if we send a drone to overfly the island instead?"
Dude B "yeah but what does that prove? They're going to shoot it down and even if you say we don't care it's unmanned, that's a loss of face"

Come end of the year PLAAF just goes haha UCAV go brrr and walk straight in.

The so-called "sniper" pod locking onto the KJ-500, released by the Taiwan Air Force today, is clearly a photoshopped image from the Changchun Air Show. There are four J-20s next to it; Taiwan Air Force selectively ignoring them.
