Those usually are detachable but only so that you can replace them with other rear iron sights, like suppressor height or night sights. I don't think I've ever seen optics being mounted using the rear iron sight slot.

You can use a dovetail mount adapter plate, but it most likely won't hold zero, and it'll increase height over bore.

They can probably just mill it for an optics cut if they want to anyway.
