Wonder if they already have gotten their hands on the new 6.8 round

Keep in mind that first, what Sig is selling isn’t the military spec round. So this is more like .223 Remington vs 5.56 NATO they are close but where a 5.56 NATO rifle can chamber .223. a .223 can’t do the same.
Even the listed pressure points are below the Military listed.
The actual bullets would differ too. I am not even sure Sig is selling the fury on the international market yet.
even if they got the testing rounds, the round in US Army larger testing isn’t the AP type. It’s the Barrier penetration type.
like M855 or SS109 these are rounds meant to punch through soft cover like plywood drywall, Cinder blocks,a car door. Not that’s not to say it might not be able to defeat armor under certain conditions. It’s just that rather than a penetration it’s a blunt force attack. Trying to create enough back face deformation that the wearer is a casualty. A war hammer approach.

If China buy the rifle and ammo they probably can replace the bullet to a military one. But I think the biggest usage is to evaluate the design and let some soldiers fire it and give a review. Armor penetration is relative straight forward to simulate in computers nowadays.

Here's hoping to a 191 chambered in the 6mm range.

Truth is it Doesn’t really matter. The NGSW R and NGSW AR ammunition is designed to be a little lighter, a little flatter shooting a higher pressure curve but Rifles and calibers like that already exist. In fact both the SPEAR and RM277 started out and can be very easily reconfigured to 7.62x51NATO. TV has made a whole campaign of converting 7.62x51mm guns to their 6.8 cartridges. That’s easy. The Sig Fury, SPEAR and Mg68 are built on trying fit it into an M4 size package.
I am sure Norinco could try and clone the Fury if they wanted to, drop it into modified CS/LR 18 and the 7.62x51 MG. But that doesn’t give them what makes the NGSW. That is the total package of reduced weight ammo, Rifle, MG, suppressor and the NGSW FC the XM157.
The SPEAR doesn’t do anything SCAR H didn’t, MG68 doesn’t that mk48 does except being lighter and smaller. But add in the suppressor and especially the XM157 optic and now you can give infantry a weapon that makes every soldier in the squad a Marksman able to engage from room clearing to mountain fighting.

Not sure what you think it would gain. I mean you could rechamber it to any number of 6mm class rounds. The diameter doesn’t decide ballistics. I mean 6.8x43mm SPC is a close range cartridge well 6.5x39mm Grendel is a longer range type. Both QBZ19x could in theory be rechambered to but for what purpose? SPC built from a short barrel wool give you a weapon superior to any SMG but lack luster beyond 300m. Grendel would make an excellent sniper round but poorer penetration higher recoil. The QBZ191 was optimized for performance of an intermediate cartridge shooting Assault rifle. Soft shooting, rapid fire, 450m point effective. If you are trying to compare the two? NGSW is a battle rifle with a full power cartridge.

I recently saw a video on the SIG MCX Raptor that fires the new sig fury round. They say it haves 3000 fps out of that short barrel. With such a big round coming out of a short barrel at that speed, it's quite impressive. I wonder how well it does against a level 4 armor. I feel like if there was a variant of the QBZ 192 with such ammo, it would be quite amazing. Your opinion?

Here's the video I saw:
