Maybe its for hand-to-hand combat? Well, if the PLA are seriously developing things like that, then I can safely say a lot of their military budget is wasted on useless pieces of junk.

all kiding aside its probely just for training you cant use some weapons with that thing on takeing that thing off under fire to switch weapon would also be unwise

that glove thing is probably there in case you wall where your hand is useless but that thing could help.

as for the funny pic, what tank is that and also the helicopter (truck) is just for jumping out of chopper when the thing is in motion, but is the chopper part moving up and down???
