I believe the magazine is for a 7.62X51 round.

then we are in agreement. and that also indicates that this weapons system is intended for export. most likely to Africa, or South America where the .308/7.62x51mm round is favored.

A PLA "New guy" dropped Mr. Live Grenade after removing the pin. Which is a very quick way of getting no friends in your unit. His arse was thrown by his instructor into a ditch with the instructor following suit.

.308 caliber is the American Civilian nomenclature of and often interchanged with 7.62x51mm NATO. the Full civilian version would be .308 Winchester the two rounds are close enough that rifles firing one fire the other. So I am only slightly off. like calling a rabbit a bunny.
