Yes, that's what I meant. Wan Quan (and Cute Orca quote-posting him) hinted that he has seen and photographed the actual aircraft several days ago.

He is in Iran currently taking photos of Iranian fighter jets at an air show.
... Yes, but I read - also some of the comments - a bit in that way that he saw a "Phantom" or "Ghost", aka a stealth fighter!?
But the airshow has already ended last Sunday.

Indeed. The Su-35s may eventually replace the last F-14s still in service in Iran in the coming years.
Speaking of which, Wan Quan has already returned to China from Iran on or before the 18th. So it is indeed possible for him to be at Chengdu in the past few days or the past week (if the aforementioned hint/claim is accurate).

He’s already back, he said they weren’t able to repair the F-14 before he left, he didn’t see it fly. His IP was in Sichuan on the 16th and 17th.
