The 2024 China Military Power Report is suspiciously late this year compared to previous years.
Any chance they are waiting for a sixth generation flight test before Christmas as well before adding in some paragraphs to finally publish before the end of December?

Kinda like with the aliens, unless you see if in person, best to suspend your belief. In any case, this is all just prototype test flying. As far as we know, the competition for PLAAF's next generation fighter is ongoing. It'll be pretty sweet to see what CAC's prototype looks like but even though it's flying around in whatever testing ground, it's still something the authorities could decide they want to hide and we won't see if for years despite it flying around today or yesteryear.

The hypersonic glide vehicles were flying around for a long time before we saw one example - DF-17. We only heard of the projects and test flights from various Chinese and American sources. Didn't make those years between 2010 and 2019 mean they weren't zooming around in the skies somewhere above China. Same with the 6th gen prototypes. I would say it's only worth checking this thread for the discussion and the whole military watching hint dropping to establish which rumours and sources have repute for future reference.
One major difference is DF-17 was tested in some remote desert while anything fly out of CAC would be witnessed by a whole city with population of millions.

My gut-feeling is for Thursday, 19th ... and today I got a note via a friend I rate usually quite credible, today two high-speed taxi tests (allegedly one including an aborted lift-off) were done.

... PS: Also he noted "Cockpit is like Su-34 ( twin seat), shape like F-117 but “smooth” not sharpen, have two tail." and "Oh yes it has 3 engines."!

Would be interesting to make a sketch of this!

If it has tails, I wonder what configuration it will be.

Namely, whether it is fixed or if it would have the ability to fold down.

So every rumor we heard is true?

So every rumor we heard is true?

Define "every rumour".

Because there's been a variety of rumours, some more specific than others.

As for veracity, it's better just for us to wait until the definitive pictures emerge. I'm sure it won't be too much longer now.
