Alright everyone, can we have some higher quality posts rather than jokes and references about Christmas and other one liners?

Let's not enjoy ourselves in this thread too much and try to put our best foot forwards.
I mean, seriously no one have clue about what exactly gonna happen, if this 6gen prototype is true, I seriously doubt that we will not get photos similar to J20 maiden flight since nowadays secrecy department has more strict rules over wall climbers, hear some one took photo of J35 before official reveal had been thrown in jail for many years.

Just to let you know, please don't directly quote or respond to moderator posts written in blue or red.

You're new so that's no problem, just a heads up for future.

I've been thinking about different reasons a 6th gen fighter would employ a 3 engine layout, and I'm starting to think future growth margin for electric generator output is a very likely possibility. One way to vet that idea would be to ask what likely electric power requirements for 6th gen fighters are, and how much turbine power would need to be offloaded from thrust capacity to the electric generator to supply that requirement. I think there's a scenario where the whole system power architecture benefits from one engine being designated as the primary electricity supplier in large power draw moments, since that could make load balancing while maintaining thrust capacity easier than trying to split those needs between two engines. But for now that's just a hypothesis.

If the cockpit of the J-XD is in fact not a tandem cockpit, but side-by-side, I'm curious what it'll look like inside. Wonder how a lot of the newer stuff like a HUD will be placed inside the cockpit.

This is an interesting idea, but I'm curious how the plane will manage the cooling of the electronic systems if it requires an entire jet turbine to power, even if this level of power draw only happens in a few short bursts spaced across a long interval (perhaps a laser?).

The same way all planes do...since all electric power comes from the plane's engines? The jet engine isn't exactly an added problem for heat management either since it's technically a very good heat dump, so long as you design the heat exchangers to use the engine as such (which is how thermal management is already done).
