First off, this isn't the 039C for sure. Secondly, the way the light and shadows play on the sea and the submarine looks more like a computer-generated (CG) effect. From what I can tell, it's probably a screenshot from some CG animation.Haven't seen anyone posting this photo on Weibo until I stumbled upon it on today. Posted two days ago by @健明彭 on Facebook.
Apparently this is the exact SSK (or SSK-N) that was claimed to have sank at pier in Wuchang by a certain US "expert" and the Pentagon?
I don't recall any other active SSKs beyond the 039C with a conning tower design like that. The presence of the X-tail matches what was seen on the satellite imagery last May/June as well.
This photo was alleged to have been taken recently during (one of) her sea trials.
Can anyone verify/confirm the photo's authenticity?

I am admittedly confused with these. We know two are in service. If this is the fourth one, where is no. 3?Likely to be the 4th Type 920 hospital ship. Posted by @Jsport_三汽 on Weibo.

Aren't two Type 901As under construction as well?Part 2: Submarines, Auxiliaries, Experimental Programs
Don't think there's much new here for involved watchers, but still a good summary nonetheless.

I haven't seen any mention of this class of ship.
